General Guidelines
Perigee accepts unsolicited submissions from both published and unpublished writers in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. We are also interested in receiving scans of artwork in both traditional and digital media.
Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please let us know if the submission is accepted elsewhere.
Word Counts
Unsolicited submissions of Fiction and Non-Fiction must be 5,000 words or fewer.
There is no specific line limit for Poetry, but we prefer poems be two typed pages or fewer.
Response Time
Average response time is 60 days. Some writers will hear from us as quickly as a month, while others may have to wait three. Check the "Your Details" box below to learn when you can expect a response based on this submission period.
Compensation
For unsolicited submissions, Perigee does not currently offer monetary compensation.
Solicited submissions recieve a rate of 1 cent per word (i.e. 5,000 words = $50)

Please submit no more than three poems during a single submission period.
This is our most popular genre so please submit only your best work; fewer than 5% are accepted.
We are not interested in religious, patriotic, or "love conquers all" platitudes. Instead, we want poetry that is thoughtful, brutally revised, fresh, and knows when it is time to end.
Please submit only one poem per file.
A very brief (50 words or fewer) bio should be included with your submission. Place it at the end of your poem(s).
Perigee considers fiction from 500 to 5,000 words. Both short stories and novel excerpts are acceptable.
To make sure your fiction submission will not be rejected from the outset, follow these guidelines: Follow MLA format; Double space your manuscript; All pages should have a header with your last name and the page number; The first page should have your full name, address, phone number, and e-mail in the upper left hand corner; When possible, include a word count on the first page, upper right hand corner; The title should be centered on the first page.
Include a cover letter introducing yourself and your manuscript. One page only, please, in standard block letter format. Include the cover letter in the same file, or e-mail it to Perigee with your story's title in the subject line.

Your file will be eaten by our server, never again to see the light of day, if its file name has any apostrophes, commas, or other special characters in it. Remove these characters from the file name before uploading your submission!
Never submit more than one work in a single file.
By submitting to Perigee you agree to grant us one time international copyright to the work you submit. Upon publication, the copyright reverts back to you, the author—although we reserve the right to present the work ad infinitum in our archives section.
Do not submit to Perigee via e-mail.
Make sure your e-mail server or program allows e-mails from Perigee, otherwise we cannot contact you regarding your submission.
Perigee is published exclusively online at this time.
